Chamber members, volunteers and students in
need of community service hours are welcome
to participate in one or more of the
following committees…
Installation & Awards
Dinner
This committee prepares for our annual
Installation & Awards Dinner in January.
They identify a theme and decorate
accordingly. They also assist in business
award nominations & selections.
Hobe Sound Festival of
the Arts
The Festival Committee identifies
sponsorship opportunities for this February
event held annually. They will also
coordinate set up & clean up teams. The
committee along with Chamber staff organizes
and operates this event.
Education Committee
The education committee reviews
scholarship applications in February and
March. Those graduating seniors from South
Fork High School who live in Hobe Sound are
eligible. Committee participants may also
attend Scholarship Night in April at the
high school to present the award to the
student.
Adopt-A-Road
In May, committee members gather friends
and family to assist in keeping Hobe Sound
beautiful. On the identified day and time,
the committee members meet at Hobe Sound
Elementary School to receive direction and
supplies from the coordinator.
Golf Tournament
Tournament Committee members solicit for
door prizes, goodie bag items and
sponsorship opportunities. They also help
dispense applications for golfers for this
annual May event. During the tournament,
the committee members may be assigned to
watch for a hole-in-one, assist in photo
taking or disperse beverages to golfers.
Fishing Tournament
The Fishing Committee identifies
sponsorship opportunities and door prize
donors. They also seek anglers to
participate in the day long tournament held
annually in August. Committee participants
may be involved in the captains meeting,
weigh-in site and awards dinner.
Hobe Sound Hoedown
Committee participants are busy
canvassing for sponsorships and donations of
items for the silent auction held in
November. Also decorating and clean up teams
are needed.
Christmas Tree
Lighting
Little elves invite local community
singers and school choruses to participate
in this community event held annually in
December. Also coordination with Santa and
his reindeer to be sure he arrives on time.
Refreshment stations also need to be manned.
Christmas Parade
Committee members solicit Chamber
members to sponsor the Parade Program. The
day of the parade, held annually in
December, the committee oversees the
decorating of the grandstand, lining up of
entrants and coordination of the judges and
awards.
Blood Drive
Six times each year, committee members
are provided lists of residents and Chamber
member donors to call for scheduling of
blood donations.
Ambassador Committee
This committee meets regularly once per
month. They will also be invited to other
groundbreaking or other special events. The
Chamber Ambassadors act as greeters at
Chamber and community events. They also
conduct Ribbon Cuttings for new members.
They contact new members to help acquaint
them with the Chamber networking events and
membership privileges.
Political Forum
On election years in August, the
Political Forum Committee will coordinate a
forum in Hobe Sound. Each candidate will be
given an opportunity to speak. Residents
and members of the Hobe Sound Chamber of
Commence will be afforded an opportunity to
ask relevant questions of the candidates.
Beach Clean Up
Committee members gather friends and
family to assist in keeping Hobe Sound Beach
beautiful. On the identified day and time in
November, the committee and other community
and Chamber volunteers will meet at Hobe
Sound Beach to receive direction and
supplies from the coordinator.
