Like so many of you, I am proud that Hobe Sound is the place I live, work, and play. As a neighbor and business owner, I have had the privilege to meet and do business with so many of you. I have enjoyed a ringside seat watching my family and yours grow up in the Hobe Sound community we call our home. I can’t imagine a better place to raise a child or grow a business.
In 2007, I was selected for the Hobe Sound Chamber Board of Directors. It was an amazing time to be in business. The Chamber had just moved into its brand new office space on Dixie Highway. The housing market was “white hot”, the economy was expanding, unemployment was low, banks were lending, and for many of us, business was booming. Today, for too many in this tough economic climate, those days seem like a distant memory. However, in spite of the roller coaster ride of the past four years, most of us are still here doing business and the Hobe Sound Chamber is still here to help.
When I think about the value my business derives from belonging to the Hobe Sound Chamber, I immediately think of the opportunity the Chamber offers me to share what we do, how we do it, and why someone would want to do business with my companies.
Each day the Chamber offers every member and potential member the opportunity to showcase their business. Like most things in life, the effort we put in, is often proportionate to the results we get back. Therefore, I strongly encourage every member to attend our Monthly Breakfast Meetings, Business After Hours socials, and special events. You may even consider a table sponsorship that gives you a captivated audience of more than 100 people at Breakfast Meetings. Think about advertising your business on the Chamber website viewed by thousands of people per month. In return, the Chamber staff and leadership will be committed to helping your business thrive.
