New residents must apply for car title, license plates and vehicle registration within 10 days of employment or school enrollment. Motorboats and sailboats used in Florida water, unless registered in another state and used less than 90 days must be registered at the Tax Collector’s office. Hunting and fishing licenses may also be obtained at the Tax Collector’s office.

Under Florida law, you automatically establish residency when being employed, enrolling children in school, or registering to vote. You may document your residency by obtaining a notarized Declaration of Domicile.
